Job Hunt Streak
Privacy policy
Job Hunt Streak records completed job applications so you can follow your progress, build streaks, and compare counts with friends. It is designed to keep readable job details on your device.
Effective and last updated: July 22, 2026
When tracking begins
Nothing is recorded until you open the extension, review its data disclosure, actively agree to the described use, and select Allow job tracking.
After consent, the extension runs on HTTPS pages to recognize the final submission of a job application. It examines relevant page structure and submission indicators locally. It does not record general browsing activity, keystrokes, pointer movement, or the contents of unrelated forms.
Information kept on your device
The following information is stored in trusted chrome.storage.local extension storage:
- job title, company, job board or applicant-tracking provider, source URL, and local job-history records;
- your Supabase authentication session, selected username, and cached account information; and
- the privacy-policy version and time at which you allowed tracking.
Information stored with Supabase
Job Hunt Streak uses Supabase as its authentication, database, and realtime service provider. The following information is sent to or stored with Supabase:
- a persistent anonymous account identifier and the unique username you choose;
- your browser timezone, used to calculate local days, streaks, challenges, and leaderboard periods;
- each recognized application’s submission time and a user-scoped, one-way SHA-256 fingerprint used to prevent duplicate counts;
- friend requests, accepted friendships, and automatically generated tracker notifications; and
- basic network and security metadata that Supabase may process when providing its service, such as IP address and request logs.
The fingerprint is not a readable job identifier and is not used to reconstruct the job title, company, board, or source URL. Job Hunt Streak does not require your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or resume.
How information is used and shared
Information is used only to provide Job Hunt Streak’s job-counting, deduplication, statistics, streak, challenge, friendship, notification, and leaderboard features.
Friends you accept can see your username, application counts, and streak. They cannot access your individual application records, readable job details, authentication data, or settings.
Information is not sold, rented, used for advertising, used to build advertising profiles, or used to determine creditworthiness. It is not transferred to third parties except service providers needed to operate the extension, when required by law or for security, or as part of a business transfer subject to this policy.
Service providers
- Supabase provides authentication, database, and realtime infrastructure. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Web Services hosts this public privacy-policy page. This page contains no analytics, advertising, cookies, or remote scripts.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
You can delete an application event from the extension’s activity screen. This removes both its local readable details and its minimal Supabase event.
Removing the extension clears its local Chrome storage from that Chrome profile. Because the account is anonymous, uninstalling the extension does not by itself notify Supabase to delete the server-side account. To request deletion of your remaining Supabase profile, application events, friendships, friend requests, and notifications, use the developer support contact shown on Job Hunt Streak’s Chrome Web Store listing and provide your username.
Server-side data is retained while the account is active or as reasonably necessary to provide the extension, protect it from abuse, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Backup copies may remain temporarily according to the service provider’s backup lifecycle.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Supabase row-level security and scoped database functions restrict access to account-owned records and the limited friend information required for social features. The extension contains a public Supabase client key only; it does not contain a Supabase secret or service-role key.
No system is completely secure. Job Hunt Streak limits the data it sends to reduce the impact of a security incident.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Job Hunt Streak’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the extension’s prominent user-facing purpose and is not used for personalized advertising, lending, or creditworthiness.
Humans do not read user data except with the user’s affirmative agreement for support, when necessary for security or abuse investigation, when required by law, or when the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Children’s privacy and policy changes
Job Hunt Streak is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
This policy may be updated when the extension or its data practices change. The date at the top will identify the latest version. If a material change affects previously disclosed data use, the extension will update its in-product disclosure and request consent again where appropriate.
Contact
For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests, use the developer support contact on the Job Hunt Streak listing in the Chrome Web Store. Include your extension username, but do not send passwords or authentication tokens.
